Background

AWARD-WINNING PRODUCER, POLKA DOT PANTOMIMES
BRING PROFESSIONAL PANTO TO THE OLD REP THEATRE FOR THE FIRST TIME THIS CHRISTMAS

Birmingham audiences are invited to get ready for a tale as old as time as Polka Dot Pantomimes in partnership with The Old Rep, Birmingham proudly presents the venue’s first ever professional pantomime, Beauty and the Beast, running from 21 November to 31 December.

Tickets for this year’s spectacular Christmas show are already in great demand and advance bookings are indicating that this show will sell out fast! There are 49 fun filled performances running throughout the Christmas holidays, including a relaxed performance, a BSL Signed performance, meet and greet performances with the West End cast as well as a number of performances for local schools.

This year’s cast will star VINCE WILLIAMS as Dame Dolly Doughnut. Vince is no stranger to Birmingham having appeared in the classic TV series, Brum. Starring alongside him is the hilarious ALISTER WILMOTT as French Franc. They will be joined by the sensational AMARA SAMUEL as Belle, MATTHEW GEORGE as Prince Lucian, West End Star AMANDA BOARD SALMON as Fairy Fabulous, Birmingham’s very own AARON VIRDIE as Maurice and sensational UK drag performer, TRIXIE LEE, as the evil Grimalkin. The show also features professional dancers, local children and real dogs as Belle’s best friend! So get ready to give PIXIE, MILO and DASH a huge round of apaws!

Polka Dot’s Creative Director, Darren Maddison, says of this year’s production: “Pantomime is a such wonderful experience for the whole family, and we are absolutely thrilled to come to The Old Rep for the very first time to present this year’s spectacular production of Beauty and the Beast. Our show promises to have all the usual ingredients of a perfect panto including stunning scenery, dazzling costumes, lots of audience participation and an amazing professional cast! We can’t wait for you to join us!”.
