Its a ramble down memory lane, infused with fabulous blues artists. It's a nostalgic trip, a walk on the beach with a transistor radio playing your favourite song. The Jupiter Hollow Radio Show is your weekly excursion into the magical realm of Jupiter Hollow. Two hours of music aimed to entertain people of all ages. You can expect each week selections from my "MOLDY OLDIE JUKEBOX", my "BEFORE & AFTER" an original song and an interesting cover, my "NEW CUT" of the week a piece of music that may not fit into my usual show format, my "MY WEIRD & WONDERFUL" usually a fun interesting or novelty song, and also my "VINYL CUT". There is also a "FEATURED ARTIST" and some of the best "INDEPENDENT" & "ALTERNATIVE" music out there. Don't expect to hear the Same-o Same-o music you can hear just about anywhere else. The Jupiter Hollow Show, aka (Weekends From Jupiter Hollow) has been in continuous production now for around 15 years, with little to no change in its format. Each show takes place in a different magical location. My show philosophy is simple, find & play good music, not music that you can hear any day of the week. I only pick my music by listening and not referring to music charts or what may be popular or trending. I hope you'll give the show a chance, I think you may like it.

Veteran radio presenter of over 30 years, Emma Scott has revealed details of her new radio show. The Pluggin Baby Radio Show features the most exciting independent talent from her radio plugging business, Pluggin Baby, which she has been running since 2013. The show, will also play established bands who have fired up Emma’s musical passion since she started her radio career back in 1988. Acoustic sets and interviews with familiar artists and classic tracks, as well as introductions to fresh new bands should keep ears and the imagination fired up with its weekly offering. As Emma shines the spotlight on her favourite artists and encounters from over the years; exhilarating new sounds will lie seamlessly side by side with the likes of “Shinedown, Linkin Park, Foo Fighters, Green Day, Paramore, Stereophonics, Jimmy Eat World, Placebo, and of course Muse!”, the latter a band openly beloved by the lady herself. “So good, I named my company after one of their songs!” she declared. THE PLUGGIN’ BABY RADIO SHOW is already whipping up excitement in the same way Emma has over the years with the likes of Kerrang! Radio, Metro FM, Hallam FM, Power FM, Chiltern Radio, Heart, Galaxy, Juice and many more. In the words of Emma, “Having worked in the music industry for over 30 years, I have radio in my blood” and as the show will epitomise and the music industry can attest to over the past couple of decades or so, the supporting and promoting of new bands and great sounds lies deep in her heart, it all brought forth once more with the fun and passion only rock ‘n’ roll can inspire.

To begin in the 60's, one of America's most notorious bands came to America, the Beatles, looking for the chance of a life time. They also started a trend, he British Invasion. Once bands from England saw how big the Beatles got, they all decided to come to America. In addition to the British Invasion, East Coast Doo-Woop became popular along the East coast. This kind of music used vocal sounds more than words and was also very vocal. People started to accept African Americans because of there Mowtown/R&B music for example Aretha Franklin. They described the music as it having a ""Mowtown Sound." The music often had of "attitude." On the west coast Surf music was big especially in California. This music usually was about girls, cars, or surfing. It included minimal instrumental and had lots of vocal harmonies. The biggest surf group/artists was by far the Beach Boys. Folk music or Protest music took off also, this often tells a story and includes a lot of acoustic sounds. The last genre was Psychedelic Rock. This music was often very loud, and angry music. The guitarist usually got a very long solo. Pink Floyd was a very well-know psychedelic rock group starting in the late 60's. Pop Culture and Events One of the biggest headliners in the 60's was John F. Kennedy assassination. On November 22, 1963 in Dallas, Texas John F. Kennedy was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald. Some popular trends included wearing knit polos and poodle skirts. These knit polos often had ribbed detailing at the hem, and longer sleeves than normal. One of the most famous fads of the 60's were the notorious bell-bottom jeans made by Levi. Finally, 60's were a time of peace. During this time many, people were hippies. This means that you believed in peace and did not think anyone should be at war with one another. Hippies mainly wore tie-dye shirts and bell-bottom jeans. Also hippies wore headbands with different flower patterns on them. Lastly, hippies in the 60's were into big Volkswagen vans with different colors painted on the outside. The 60's was a very interesting time in culture. The British Invasion During the 1960's many British bands stormed to the United States to accel in their music career. Almost all of the bands succeeded and gained worldwide recognition. Groups like the Beatles and The Rolling Stones had a very large fan base and made a lot of money because of that. If these bands had never made their way over to the United States, they might not have had as much popularity in Britain and England. The Beatles recorded many top albums and became the " One Direction" of today's world. Unfortunately for The Beatles, they broke up in the 1970's. For these artists and groups it was there way of saying, "Were going to Vegas baby!"

The last trend in the 70's was the new computerized and electronic games like Simon and Atari gaming system. Finally for the boys hot wheels started and for the girls barbies started up. In pop culture, Disco was a popular dance during the 1970's. John Travolta even starred in a movie about a disco competition called " Saturday Night Fever." Popular music in the 1990s saw the continuation of teen pop and dance-pop trends which had emerged in the 1970s and 1980s. Furthermore, hip hop grew and continued to be highly successful in the decade, with the continuation of the genre's golden age. Aside from rap, reggae, contemporary R&B, and urban music in general remained extremely popular throughout the decade; urban music in the late-1980s and 1990s often blended with styles such as soul, funk, and jazz, resulting in fusion genres such as new jack swing, neo-soul, hip hop soul, and g-funk which were popular. Similarly to the 1980s, rock music was also very popular in the 1990s, yet, unlike the new wave and glam metal-dominated scene of the time, grunge, Britpop, industrial rock, and other alternative rock music emerged and took over as the most popular of the decade, as well as punk rock, ska punk, and nu metal, amongst others, which attained a high level of success at various points throughout the years. Electronic music, which had risen in popularity in the 1980s, grew highly popular in the 1990s; house and techno from the 1980s rose to international success in this decade, as well as new electronic dance music genres such as rave, happy hardcore, drum and bass, intelligent dance, and trip hop. In Europe, techno, rave, and reggae music were highly successful, while also finding some international success. The decade also featured the rise of contemporary country music as a major genre, which had started in the 1980s. The 1990s also saw a resurgence of older styles in new contexts, including third wave ska and swing revival, both of which featured a fusion of horn-based music with rock music elements. Some of the top mainstream American alternative rock bands of the 1990s included Hootie and The Blowfish, Collective Soul, Creed, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Dinosaur Jr, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Green Day, Weezer, Live, The Wallflowers, Toad the Wet Sprocket, R.E.M., The Offspring, Matchbox Twenty, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Soul Asylum, Liz Phair, The Lemonheads, Soundgarden, Counting Crows, Spin Doctors, dc Talk, Goo Goo Dolls, Third Eye Blind, Smash Mouth, The Smashing Pumpkins, 4 Non Blondes, Beck, The Breeders, Gin Blossoms, Foo Fighters, Sublime, Marcy Playground, No Doubt, Hole, Cake, Blind Melon, Eels, Stone Temple Pilots, Garbage, and Pearl Jam. These bands were variously influenced by ska, punk, pop, metal, and many other musical genres.
