Then Jerico – 16th January 2026 Gig Review

I was invited to the Birmingham leg of the Then Jerico UK tour.  This took place on Friday 16th January 2026 at the O2 Academy and was a nice intimate show using Stage 3 which is the smallest of the three venues at the Academy.

The support for the night was a group I had never actually heard of before called The Rude Awakening.  They are a Synth-Pop duo from Stratford-Upon-Avon who create original synth pop music plus covers from bands such as Visage, New Order, Duran Duran, Gary Newman, Dollar etc.  Great stage presence and a really good duo who certainly got the crowd going with some very familiar songs from the 80s with a set that lasted about 40 minutes.

Then Jerico performed for 90 minutes with a rapid selection of songs from the first two albums plus Marks own solo material.  The whole group showed that age and time definitely doesn’t reduce the performance and Mark is a true showman who knows how to perform to an audience.

Overall I really enjoyed this gig and would definitely recommend seeing Then Jerico live if you get the chance.  If you missed the interview with Mark then you can listen to it again here.
